Our documentary
Making a documentary was harder than i expected. It required, tons of planning, research, revising and patients. My group had it's ups and downs, with our creative differences, and how much we really knew what we were doing. Even though i loved how our documentary turned out in the end, the two weeks were not without frustration and fighting. Although we took the time to go out and buy outfits for the occasion, i feel that the costumes weren't displayed well enough. However, I think the mullet made up for it.
The first step in our process, was to research and plan. We divided the 90's into three different groups, each one of our group members research one section. We looked up the movies, music, and major events in each year. Next, we got together on the weekend, bought our costumes and filmed the majority of our clips. This is where we made all the mistakes. This weekend, we'll probably all admit, we were not focused. We ended up re doing almost all the clips we did that weekend. It essentially was a waste of time.
The next weekend, we had to make up for lost time. Spending eight hours with lots of coffee, and no goofing off. Another mistake we made, which was my fault, was deciding to make a section for each year in the 1990's. It took probably 3 times longer because it was my great idea to do this, instead of summing up the whole 90's. This is where the majority of the frustration came from. It took so long to plan each year, and then because we used movie maker, we could only use one computer, and do one thing at a time. That weekend, we downloaded all the necessary music, made our narration clips, tried to download videos, but ended up filming them, and over all edited the whole thing to make it purrdy.

I think some of the best features in our video, was the movie clips from each year, the great music selection, and how we effectively incorporated the majority of the elements of the 90's. And even though we fought constantly, and wanted to kill movie maker, and the entire project, it was a great experience. We bonded, we worked hard, and we made a great documentary. Although we made it long, and eccentric, it turned out great, and was hilarious to see the fools we made ourselves into. I must thank both of my group members, but mostly Brittany Hand, she was the ultimate master of movie maker, and tried to keep the peace. I would also like to thank my mother, for keeping all the coffee and french fries coming.
Their documentaries
Over all, i think every single person in the class made an amazing documentary. I think some of the best videos, were the ones that involved an equal amount of video clips, voice clips and awesome music. I think somethings that didn't work as well, was when there were just a ton of pictures, i think when groups used a variety of each, it turned out better. Even though you could tell the amount of effort put into each one, all of them captured the feeling of each era. I never really knew anything much about any other era, because i didn't feel the need too, i acquired tons of information from each era. I didn't previously know what happened when, and which came first, the chicken or the egg, each video presented each era in a creative and informative way. The one thing i would say to all of us, is that we need to be careful where we get the information, because even in my group, we would have to triple check our source because not everything was correct.
